Samāveśa School Sessions

Each month, someone from the Samāveśa 300hr Faculty offers a 4-week series based on their own research, interests, or expertise — bringing their unique approach to the material.

This September, I’ll be sharing a series called Somatic Cartographies: A 4-Week Journey into Movement, Listening & Relational Practice.

Rooted in somatic dance and informed by Body-Mind Centering, Authentic Movement, and my own lived experience, this series invites you to slow down and tune into the quiet intelligence of your body and the landscapes we move through. It’s a space to listen, sense, and move from the inside out — exploring movement as a daily relational practice.

Over four weeks, we’ll move through:

  • Week 1: Landing & Listening — grounding in body and space, tracking sensation, breath, and weight, and an intro to authentic movement as a container for deep listening.

  • Week 2: Relating & Responding — working with stones and natural materials, exploring our body’s relationship with gravity and support, and attuning to the felt sense of “other” — in self, space, and nature.

  • Week 3: Movement as Communication — exploring preverbal dialogue and duet/ensemble movement, using touch, weight, and proximity to build relational trust.

  • Week 4: Integration & Daily Practice — harvesting insights through writing, drawing, and movement, introducing daily tools like journaling and somatic tracking, and framing somatic dance as an ongoing practice.

You can drop in for single sessions or sign up for the full 4-week journey.

We offer a community rate for Samāveśa graduates and trainees, and for anyone on a low income or from low economy countries.
